Newquay bench

Newquay bench, originally uploaded by Samantha Eynon.
I took this one on holiday last year, and just had a little play with it on photoshop (though really I need to improve my photography skills, as well as my photoshop ones!), while doing so i noticed the little red figure nearly in the middle of the photo, on the beach between the bars! What a happy little accident!

Tattoos galore!

So Miami Ink is something you will find on my TV fairly often (Though it seems like i've seen all of them now!)
Me and my husband both love it! We also both love tattoos, but so far don't have any (i'm too indecisive to decide what I would like on my body for the rest of my life, and also a little scared) I have designed a few tattoos for other people. Here is one I designed for my husband:

He told me what elements he wanted within it and I designed it on illustrator, I think it looks pretty rad! Has a bit of a Travis Barker feel with the retro 80's boombox.  The stars were my little addition, just thought it brought the elements together. Now he just has to bite the bullet and get it done! when/ if he gets it done i will post a pic up, though as well as having to muster up the courage we also need to save up the money for him to have it!

On the subject of tattoos, just thought I'd share this artist with you guys....... Angelique Houtkamp

If you haven't already come across her work, here are a few pics to feast your eyes on:

You can find more of her work at www.salonserpent.com.

I just find her tattoo inspired paintings to be so beautiful, they seem poetic, sexy and macarbe.
The watercolour paper seems to resemble skin and the work is so precise; the colours so vibrant!

I-pod cover buddies!

I-pod cover buddies!, originally uploaded by Samantha Eynon.
Have just finished making an i-pod cover as a commission piece (the pink one)

The blue one was the first one that I made for myself. They look like a cute couple though hey?! I think they like each other, so it will be sad when the new owner comes to take the new one away!

It's the first thing I've made since learning to knit. I'm not so great at following patterns so I just made this one up, and alter it as I go along.

Still lots of things in my technique to improve on, but think i'm getting better, now to learn how to crochet properly! I started to teach myself the other week, my ultimate aim is to be able to make little arugumi creatures! I just love them!

T-shirt, love bugs

T-shirt, love bugs, originally uploaded by Samantha Eynon.
Just thought this one was fitting for valentines day! Meet the love bugs!

Though I have to say I am hating the amount of cheap (though not always so cheap), nasty looking tat about for said St V day!

I was so impressed by the grotesque display at the co-op that I wrote this poem in homage!:

Blood red,

Sparkles lacklustre,

Bears suffocate in plastic bags,

Eyes stare vacantly,

Rows of clones march without intent

T-shirt, float on

Have just converted and altered a few of my designs, so that they work as a t-shirt design, so I could submit them to creative boom which is an online magazine that aims to celebrate, support and inspire the creative industries.

Visit http://creativeboom.co.uk

Hopefully they will be added to the competition soon, and when they are it would be fab if you voted for them at:

My visual diary

01/02/10, originally uploaded by Samantha Eynon.

Hey guys!

I've decided that on most days I will try and draw my day!
Basically I'll try to take time at the end of the day to reflect on my day by drawing images that pop into my head when I think of the day.

These will be very rough and ready, but are a way for my to keep up my drawing, and are also a pretty call way of recording your day!

House

untitled, originally uploaded by Samantha Eynon.

So I did a range of photos a while back (summer time), and have just posted a selection of them on flickr. Take a peek if you fancy!

The photos exploring the emotions conjured up by the word home. How it can have positive or negative connotations, though traditionally the word house conjures up feelings of safety and comfort.

The card house is based on my memory of my first childhood house.

what i wore today 20 01 10

wiwt 20 01 10, originally uploaded by Samantha Eynon.

Hi guys! Here's another pic for the what i wore today group on flickr. It's giving me a good excuse to try and hone my skills. Tried a different style again for this one. Thought I'd have a bit more of a play on illustrator.

It's a little rough around the edges, but pretty happy with it!

Self portrait

Self portrait, originally uploaded by Samantha Eynon.

This is basically the last image, but much more stylized. It's drawn on illustrator and coloured in Photoshop. I think this one has much more impact!

what i wore today 18/01/10

New pic for the What I wore today pool on Flickr! Not liking the wobbly, uneven lines that occur after scanning in my images, even after using the trace option on illustrator, will try and improve my next one!
